Casino Cruise Review

Casino Cruise
Well, sadly for you cruise-loving Americans, you will not be able to board Casino Cruise unless you are playing from outside your country. Part of being licensed in the UK is a clear acceptance that a casino will not take action from countries where online gambling is not legal. This includes the murky waters of the U.S.
  • Multiple Software Partners
  • Loads of Progressive Jackpots
  • Excellent Banking Options
  • Bonus Clearing confusion
  • Doesn’t accept U.S. players
  • Some payout complaints during their first year

Is Casino Cruise Legit for U.S. Players?

Unfortunately, this cruise ship is leaving U.S. passengers behind, which means it is not a legit casino for American players. Should something change in the regulatory landscape and this site decides to open their doors to players from the U.S., this review will be updated immediately.

Casino Review

Even though Americans are not allowed to play at Casino Cruise, what they do offer for their players in non-restricted countries is a fantastic player experience. They promote on their site that you can access over 1,200 games; I did not see that many in my review but that is likely because one of their software partners has country restrictions in place (this is pretty standard with the larger vendors). Regardless, with no sports, poker or bingo available on their site, it is up to their casino to generate 100% of the revenue from their players. With that in mind, it seems like Casino Cruise has knocked it out of the park when it comes to choosing software vendors. At the time of this review, I found no less than six different companies offering their games at this casino:
  • Net Ent
  • Microgaming
  • Evolution Gaming (Live Dealer)
  • NYX Interactive
  • Play N’ Go
  • Lucky Streak
This is a great mix of some of the top names in the casino software world. Add in the next-level Live Dealer games from Evolution, and you have a top-rate list of titles to play at Casino Cruise. We are going to take a look at all facets of this casino in our review:

Casino

As mentioned earlier, Casino Cruise uses many software suppliers to run their casino; this means you as a player will find over 1,000 different games and slots to choose from. This is one of the most comprehensive lists of games I have seen in my days reviewing sites. Let’s have a look at each category.

Live Dealer Games

I like to start my reviews with Live Dealer if they are available, and for you lucky folks, Casino Cruise has selected Evolution Gaming for their offering. This may sound like a broken record, but you really have to try out Live Dealer games. As someone who has been playing online casino games for 20 years, finally having a human face on the screen dealing my game is such a welcome sight! The games play a little slower than the standard digital games, but I would hope the interaction with the dealer will make for even more enjoyment. Here are the games you can play at Casino Cruise’s Live Dealer lobby (no free play on these games):
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Dream Catcher Lucky Wheel
  • Caribbean Stud
  • Casino Hold’em
  • Ultimate Texas Hold’em
  • 3 Card Poker

Table Games

When you click on the Table Games section of the casino, you may at first be put off by some cumbersome navigation. I promise you that it is worth it to keep pushing forward; what you will find is a series of Table Games from multiple providers. This means that you will find different looking versions of some of your favorite games. It’s like being in two separate casinos at the same time! Here are the Table Games from Net Entertainment, Microgaming and Play’n GO that you will find at Casino Cruise:
  • 3 Card Poker
  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Caribbean Stud Poker
  • Casino Hold ‘Em
  • Casino War
  • Craps
  • Crown and Anchor
  • Cyberstud Poker
  • Double Exposure
  • Oasis Poker
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Red Dog
  • Roulette
  • Sic Bo
  • Spanish Blackjack
  • Spingo
  • TXS Hold ’em

Slots

Ok, now if you are slots player, you probably love the way certain games play, or even have your favorite machines (usually the ones that have paid you out the most!). When you head to the Casino Cruise Slots lobby, you will be blown away by the sheer volume of titles available; at last check, there were almost 600. With that many titles and multiple providers bringing you different looks and pay tables, you are going to want to have a look around for new games to try! For example, when I started reviewing the casino, I picked a few slots to try, and landed on the Game Of Thrones slot; if you like the show, then you are going to like what you see here. Try it out for free while you are reading this review! I won’t list all the slots here in this review; you would be reading for an hour. However, I am going to highlight many that I have either played before or caught my eye during the extensive review.

Video Poker

What Casino Cruise may lack in different video poker variants, they more than make up for with having so many multiple hand options for each of the games. Whether you want to play 1, 2, 50 or 100 hands, you are going to have those options, along with the pyramid version of the games. I am a bit surprised that there aren’t more variants, to be honest; with so many vendors to choose from, the casino could have added many more. However, we’ll take what we can get, and if you like to play video poker, you can select from these titles:
  • Jackpot Poker
  • Aces and Eights
  • Joker Poker
  • Jacks Or Better
  • Deuces Wild

Customer Service

Casino Cruise offers customer service options 24/7, which includes the following:
  • Email
  • Live Chat (not currently open 24/7)
  • Telephone (in many cases there is a local number for your country or a toll-free option)
It is a bit odd that a casino wouldn’t offer Live Chat 24/7; it is the most efficient way to take care of a customer in real time without clogging up phone lines. Perhaps this is an oversight from the folks at this casino and that there will be around-the-clock Live Chat Customer Service soon.

Promotions

Like most online casinos, Casino Cruise offers its players two types of promotions: a Welcome Bonus and a series of ongoing promotions. I’ll review a couple of them in detail here, but if you head to the promotions page, then you will be able to see everything currently being offered.

Welcome Bonus

The casino welcomes you with some free spins to go along with $1,000 in Welcome Bonus dollars. This bonus is split up into 4, allowing you to take advantage of the offer on more than just your initial deposit. Here is the breakdown of the Welcome Bonus offer.
  • 1st Deposit: 100% Bonus to $200 + 200 Free Spins
  • 2nd Deposit: 50% to $200
  • 3rd Deposit: 25% to $300
  • 4th Deposit: 25% to $300
Personally, I like when a casino spreads their Welcome Bonus over multiple deposits; they aren’t trying t get you to make one huge deposit to start which most people aren’t comfortable doing anyway. One thing to take note of with regards to the Free Spins is that they are given to you in batches of 20 on a daily basis for the 10 consecutive days after your first deposit, and they expire after 24 hours.

Win a Mediterranean Cruise

Well, this is the kind of promotion I was hoping to find at Casino Cruise. All too often, companies don’t take advantage of their name when coming up with marketing ideas; this is not the case at this casino! Here are the details of the promotion: First off, you have to opt-in for the contest. This is basically a way to ensure you have read the website to see the details of the cruise. Once you opt in, it is straightforward; you receive one raffle ticket for every $50 you deposit. For me, I would go all out for this promotion; it’s a random draw, so your gameplay is not as important a factor as other promotions. Continuing on the cruise theme, this is a reload bonus for players that is only available on Tuesdays. You will receive a 25% bonus on all deposits on Tuesdays up to a maximum of $100 in bonus money. And, before you ask, no skinny dipping on the boat.

Banking

Even though this brand has only been around since 2014, it is great to see that they offer so many different payment options to its players. Given the fact that they are licensed in the UK and Malta, getting a good rate from a processor shouldn’t be tough for Casino Cruise. The company also touts the fact that they do not charge for withdrawals.  That is excellent news for players; sometimes a withdrawal can have up to $50 taken from it to cover fees. This kind of added value will keep players coming back again and again.

VIP Program

Casino Cruise offers its players the opportunity to earn Comp points when playing real money casino games. The standard rate of accumulating the points is as follows: Bets needed to earn 1 cash point: slots $/€/£ 10, Classic slots $/€/£ 15, Table $/€/£ 50, Live Dealer $/€/£ 50. Some games might require higher bet for point accumulation or will be excluded from the Cash points plan. Points can be redeemed in groups of 100 for $1 of cash back in your account. I always encourage players to take advantage of comp points as soon as you can convert them so you can get that bonus money playing for you as quickly as possible. The minimum you need to be able to convert is 1,000 The casino does offer a VIP Program to go along with their Comp program. Here are the details of that program: The Casino Cruise VIP Program, known as the Captain’s Club includes three levels. Here is an outline of what each level can receive:

Deluxe Suite – 25% Extra Comp Points

Here you will enjoy many premium features such as
  • personalized email support and customer service
  • exclusive weekend promotions
  • birthday bonuses
  • anniversary gifts
  • up to 12-hour response time

Royal Suite – 50% extra Comp Points

Once part of our Royal Suite, you will be:
  • invited to exclusive VIP events
  • receive your own personal VIP account manager
  • receive personal gifts
  • access to higher withdrawal amounts than other VIP suites.

President Suite – 100% extra Comp Points

Here you will enjoy not only all our Deluxe Suite offers and much more including:
  • a welcome gift
  • express withdrawals
  • personal cash back offers
  • bonus structures tailored to your needs
Personally, I like to see a few more details on what exactly you receive in each status level, but I am happy to see the program in place at least so you can take advantage of being a loyal player with Casino Cruise.

Conclusion

It’s pretty disappointing that players from the U.S. are not allowed to access Casino Cruise because the casino itself is fantastic. With so many games to choose from and multiple software vendors in use, the sheer volume of games in their lobby makes you feel like you are indeed on a giant cruise ship. While the company needs to work a little on their bonus clearing and some of the website navigation, I would easily recommend Casino Cruise to anyone looking to “escape” from their living room.
