I have been reviewing online casino sites for almost a decade in one form or another. Along the way, I have seen hundreds of different promotions, dozens of different software providers, and multiple ownership changes resulting in new branding of the same product. However, every occasionally, I am stunned by what I find when I start a review. This is definitely the case when it comes to the folks from 5Dimes Casino.
The 5Dimes brand was established in the late 1990s in Costa Rica and quickly became one of the leaders in the sportsbook industry. Like most of the sportsbooks from that era. Adding casino products only made sense, and so the company ventured into the casino world in the early 2000s.
None of that is the surprising part. As many of you who have read these reviews will know, many casino operators run many different casinos under unique names. 5Dimes is the exact opposite. They run five different casinos all under the 5Dimes banner – no new websites, no real separate branding except for a name change. It can all make for a very confusing experience for players (and reviewers haha), but I am here to help you navigate the site as when you get to the games you are actually going to have a good time!
The company has been around for 20 years, and you don’t get to stay open in this cutthroat business for this long unless you are on the up and up. Yes, they have had some complaints over the years regarding payments and betting rules, but most sites have had their share of issues. All signs point to 5Dimes being a legit site for players to play, and aside from the 3 states where they have had to prohibit play, it is all systems go for residents of the other 47 States.
Wow. There are a ton of promotions at 5Dimes. Many of them are split between their different casino brands, along with some sportsbook-specific offers. There are simply too many to review here on this page; I will cover a few of them then you can click on the link at the bottom to see the rest for yourself.
This is the only New Player bonus for any of the casino brands. To receive this 50% bonus, you have to jump through a few hoops; let me defer to the casino on this one:
Receive up to $125 in MatchPlay to use in our MatchPlay Casino. The amount of your reward is based on 50% of your first deposit. (See chart.) The deposit must be between $50 and $250 and can be made using any method. *Note that some deposit methods have a deposit minimum above $50.
Every single dollar you wager in the MatchPlay Casino goes toward earning your new account MatchPlay reward.
You must FIRST wager ten times your deposit amount in the MatchPlay Casino to receive your reward.
**** All Rewards are Manually Approved and Entered ****
You must request your reward within 24 hours of an accepted deposit by contacting us by Live Help, e-mail or phone. Any wagers placed before requesting your reward will not count towards the required play to earn the reward. 5Dimes Free-Play and Reward Rules apply to this promotion.
First Deposit Amount | Reward Value |
$50 | $25 |
$100 | $50 |
$200 | $100 |
$250 | $125 MAX |
$100 is the maximum initial deposit amount to qualify for a bonus from customers outside of North America. Customers from some countries in Eastern Europe and Asia may be subject to doubled or tripled rollover requirements when choosing this bonus. Inquire with customer service for more details. See what I mean? It’s all manual which makes it much more subjective than you are generally used to at an online casino. I have yet to decide if this is better or worse than other casino Welcome Bonuses…but it’s definitely unique.
This one sounds fantastic! Play at any of the casinos, and you can qualify for up to 21% cashback on your losses. But hold on here; the terms and conditions of this promotion are even more confusing than the last one! Here is just a snippet of the T&C: Here is how the program works:
You can receive a 21% rebate reward on your overall losses in any of the 5Dimes Casinos once per 30 days. If 30 or more days have passed since your last rebate was applied, you may ask for your rebate of 21% to be calculated and applied.
*** OR ***
You can receive a 14% rebate reward on your overall losses in any of the 5Dimes Casinos on Wednesdays. This Casino Rebate Reward can only be requested on Wednesday from 1:00 am until 1:00 pm ET. The 14% Casino Rebate Reward is limited to one time each Wednesday.
*** OR *** On any day other than Wednesday, if you choose to ask for a Casino Rebate Reward before 30 days, you will receive a 7% of your overall casino losses since your last casino rebate reward was applied. I am bewildered by these promotions; you need a Masters Degree to understand how actually to earn anything completely.
Ok, here is a promo I can get behind: A slots tournament with a very special bonus for the winner Every Sunday night at 6:00 PM ET, join us for the 5Dimes Grand Casino’s Naughty or Nice Slots Tourney! Play for your share of the $100 Prize Pool, PLUS the winner will get an amazing EXTRA prize: 100% of their Net Casino Figure from the day before credited to their Sports Account IN CASH*! The player with the highest score at the end of the tournament will win the biggest share of the prize pool PLUS a refund of their Saturday’s Casino losses OR their Casino winnings credited again as cash in their Sports Account. For a full list of the dozens of promotions available at 5Dimes, you can check out their Promotions page here (sorry that it looks like a 5-year-old designed it):
As I mentioned, this is going to be somewhat of a confusing review. First of all, there are five distinct casino brands within the 5Dimes site. I’ll break down each of these sites including the game selection, promotions, and offers for each. Also, the 5Dimes website looks like it hasn’t been updated in 15 years; this is likely to be the case. So, I will take care of telling you about everything else you need to know about this casino.
5Dimes uses RealTime Gaming software for its games. This highly reputable software is known for its decades of providing fair games. With RealTime Gaming, all random numbers are generated randomly without foul play.
Furthermore, players’ information is secured and their winnings are kept private.
I will say that I am relatively confused myself by why 5Dimes has chosen to set up their casinos this way. I imagine it is because each uses a different software vendor and they are too lazy to do all the development work to integrate them all correctly. This is pretty typical of an operator like this – their core business is sports betting, and as a result, the casino doesn’t get much love. Let’s break down each of their casinos for you.
Let’s start with the largest of their casinos, the Grand Casino. This is a casino powered by Real Time Gaming, who is one of the largest companies to accept U.S. players still. With the RTG software, you will get some great slots and table games, and you can access these games by downloading their casino client or from the browser of your PC or your mobile device. There are over 200 games to choose from in the Grand Casino lobby.

With the RTG software, you will get some great slots and table games, and you can access these games by downloading their casino client or from the browser of your PC or your mobile device. There are over 200 games to choose from in the Grand Casino lobby.
The Table Games selection at Grand Casino is excellent. I can tell that RTG is still spending a significant amount of time and resources on the table games because the quality and speed continues to improve every time I review one of their licensees. If you want to get a sense of what I am talking about, you can try the games at Grand Casino for free; give one of the Blackjack games a shot to see how smoothly the game plays. As for the rest of the Table Games, you are going to find all the standards in the Grand Casino lobby. Check these games out:
Real Time Gaming has made sure the slots catalog matches up with the best in the business; you will find an excellent array of themes in their slots games, along with some large progressive jackpot games. For me, every time I play at an RTG-powered casino, I tend to spend my slots time playing Goblin’s Treasure and Aztec’s Treasure; clearly, I have treasure on the brain! Check out the graphics in these cool games: If those aren’t up your alley, have no fear. There are over 130 different slots available at Grand Casino…here are some of the great titles available:
If you want to play video poker, then the Grand Casino brand at 5Dimes is where you want to be. They offer tons of different variants with many of them coming with multi-hand options. Personally, I am still a sucker for a 50-hand or 100-hand option, and I can find a couple of the 50-hand options (52, actually) in their video poker lobby. Look at all the variants you get to choose from:
The Grand Casino even has a few Specialty Games options for those of you who don’t necessarily want to play table games or slots. While these games usually have worse odds for players, they are still incredibly popular across the world.
Ok, now that we are done reviewing Grand Casino, let’s move on to their second largest casino offering, Jackpot Casino. This is a Betsoft casino – these guys are known mostly for their 3D slots catalog, featuring vibrant graphics and excellent gameplay.
At jackpot Casino, the Table Games selection is almost identical to that of the RTG-powered Grand Casino. However, if you are already in this lobby playing the 3D slots, you can just toggle to some of these table games to give them a try:
This is what you want to head to Jackpot Casino for; these games are worth playing no matter where I find them in a casino. Betsoft’s developers have built an amazing display of graphics into these games, and you can tell the instant you start spinning the reels. One of my favorites is The SlotFather; check it out here: Jackpot Casino has over 70 other slots titles for you to check out; while most of them are 3D slots, they do also have a few classic titles as well. Here is a selection of games you may recognize:
Video Poker fans will also be happy with what you find in the Jackpot Casino lobby. The casino features 12 different video poker variants and multi-hand and pyramid versions of many of those games. What this adds up to is an excellent overall playing experience for someone as into video poker as this reviewer. Here are the variants you will find at this casino:
The Betsoft suite of games doesn’t feature too many Specialty Games titles, but if you fancy one of these, then you won’t have to switch to another 5Dimes casino to find one.
Now we are heading into a more specialized set of casinos available at 5Dimes. This one is interesting; the Bonus Casino prides itself on having better payouts than a regular casino. In fact, they encourage you to look at the pay tables for this casino versus the traditional payouts. I checked; they aren’t kidding, these pay tables are in fact better. However, the amount is pretty minimal. This is a casino powered by Digital Gaming Solutions, a smaller software provider based in Costa Rica. Let’s look at the offering:
Given their supplier and the style of the casino, it is not surprising to find far fewer Table Games available for play at Bonus Casino. The games they do offer play fine; they aren’t as nice as the RTG of Betsoft games, but if you are looking for that extra bit of value then they will work for you.
As with the Table Games, the selection of slots in the Bonus Casino lobby isn’t all that great. But you aren’t in this casino for great selection, you are here for the extra payout percentages, so give these titles a try to win a little extra cash:
The Specialty Games Section of the Bonus Casino is straightforward: they have Bingo and Keno. If you like playing these time-killers, then fill your boots!
Still with me? Great. Now we are on to an even smaller casino lobby, the one for MatchPlay Casino. There is no fooling around with this casino; their focus is on Blackjack and Poker variants. If you are looking for other Table Games, Slots or anything else, you should go back to the three casinos reviewed above. I am still not entirely sure what the MatchPlay angle is with this casino. There is nothing that tells me that they offer match play on each or any hand, so I presume it is just for branding purposes. Here is the list of games you can play at the Match Play casino either on your PC or via your mobile device:
This new casino brand at 5Dimes is under construction, so when it is available, we will update this review. So, that covers the traditional casino options available to you at 5Dimes, but we aren’t done with casino games yet! Amazingly, the site offers two other ways to access some casino games: Live Dealer and Mini Games.
As part of their deal with Real Time Gaming, 5Dimes has access to the suite of Live Dealer games. While these aren’t as sharp as other Live Dealer games you will find online, the experience is still basically the same. For me, it is nice to have a change of pace when playing casino games, so having the dealer on the other end of the webcam is excellent. These games also replicate playing in a live casino a little better which is good for those of you who want to feel like you are sitting in Vegas even though you are in your underwear at home. Here are the Live Dealer options for you at 5Dimes:
Mini Games became popular in the early 2000s. These games are designed to play in a much smaller screen area, making it possible to play these games while also focusing on the main screen event like sports betting or poker. With the advent of mobile gameplay, all casino games are being formatted for adjustability, but the folks at 5Dimes continue to offer Mini Games as Part of their platform. There is a pretty extensive list of Mini Games available for you to try at 5Dimes:
Video Poker
Specialty Games
Ok, that’s it, we swear. As you can see, for a company whose initial focus was sports bettors, the guys at 5Dimes have done their best to make their entire casino catalog attractive to all types of gamblers.
Yes, the 5Dimes casino games are what we focused this review on, but the fact of the matter is that 5Dimes is also an excellent sportsbook. If you like to bet on your favorite team or event, then you and I share yet another thing in common. I have played with 5Dimes on and off since the early 2000s, so I am able to vouch for their sports offering. At 5Dimes, you can make all the traditional wagers that you would find at sportsbooks around the world (spread bets, parlays, teasers, etc.) but you can also find a whole host of prop bets, as well as non-traditional betting options. You can easily toggle between all the betting lines on their pages, and in fact, they give you a tutorial on all the customization which you can see here: The company is definitely focused on sports that appeal to U.S. gamblers the most, but they have loads of options for you to choose from:
Conspicuously absent from this list is eSports. I find this a bit disappointing, but I can understand why that is the case. 5Dimes, along with many of the original online sportsbooks, is run by an “older” management team; they probably don’t have the expertise on staff to offer the proper lines, nor do they likely have the clientele looking for eSports betting. However, it is safe to say that eSports are here to stay, and I am hopeful that 5Dimes starts taking those wagers sooner or later, so I don’t have to go to another operator to get my fix.
I’ll make this one short and sweet. 5Dimes does have a poker product, but it is horrible and has no players in it. If you are looking for poker, I would suggest you look elsewhere until these guys focus on it a little more or add themselves to a network that has the liquidity to sustain their player base.
5Dimes started as telephone-based sports betting service so you can imagine that their offices are set up for as many customer service agents as they need to keep their clients happy. While they don’t have nearly as many people manning the phones in the age of internet betting, they still have a number you can call if you are having issues with your casino. They also offer a Live Chat feature which I find to be the best way to contact a casino, but you can always try them by email if you don’t want to deal with the agent on the phone.
The banking options at 5Dimes are not nearly as extensive as some of the other online casinos you may be used to. This can be traced back to a couple of reasons. First, the casino is clearly taking wagers from U.S. players which is going to limit their options from a processing perspective. Add in the fact that they take sports bets (which is technically more illegal than casino bets in the eyes of the U.S. government) they face even more scrutiny. Even with all these challenges, the casino works very hard to ensure you can make a deposit. If your first attempt fails, you will;l quickly receive a call from one of their payments team to help you through the alternative options for you. As far as payouts go, again the options are limited. Yes, there have been complaints about slow paying on occasion, but for the most part, it seems players are comfortable with the whole process.
One of the perks of 5Dimes it’s various deposit options given to players. Here are a few made available for players.
Money orders: Want to bet big? Well, you should consider using a money order since there is no deposit limit using this option. While this might take more time than others since your players using this option would have to mail a slip of paper. We could all agree that a week is a little price to pay for the amount you stand to win by betting big.
Winnings are what players come back for more at 5Dimes. Which is why the withdrawal methods are easy and straight to the cash for you.
As you must have noticed that payments are made through third-parties these processes are safe and are highly protected. So your winnings are you and yours alone for the cashout.
At this time, the 5Dimes Casino does not have a published VIP or Comp Program. It is my guess that there is actually one available, but it is entirely subjective. The company does allow you to receive some cash back or lower juice on sports bets, but as far as a tiered program with extra benefits, it is safe to say that the only way to find out is by being one of their best customers. In other words, if you lose a lot, they will probably tell you that you are one of their VIPs.
As I mentioned earlier in the review, I have actually been a customer of the 5Dimes sportsbook for quite some time. Before now, however, I hadn’t tried their casino games. What I found was an excellent casino offering, if only just a bit confusing by being spread between multiple brands inside the 5Dimes website. The use of Real Time Gaming and Betsoft as their main suppliers is excellent for players, as both companies make high-quality games. There are a lot of different promotions for you to take advantage of, although I must caution that you should read and review all the Terms and Conditions for any promo, so you know what you are getting yourself into.
